edited to add: I'm sticking with the original Macbook. In Black so that the pawprints don't show when JD (the rest of the cat who's nose you see in that there picture off to the left) sleeps on the mobile heat source I so thoughtfully bought for him.

It's all looks you know, It has no personality! (or firewire port, or ethernet port, or optical drive, or home replaceable battery....or....) Did I mention it costs an arm and a leg?
I know, I've changed my mind since getting further than the pictures. The only truly exciting bit of hardware is the solid state drive & that just isn't enough to justify the sheer amount of my money I wouldn't have any more.
I've now settled on a 13" Black MacBook to replace my Powerbook G4.
My PowerBook is still alive but the batteries shot and I'm going to have to upgrade soon, I'm peeved that the mac pros don't come smaller that 15"
